So Much to Thank my Father

Tis blog shall focus on a Big Thank U to Father...

1)Our house rent increased

So what to give thanks about?! Instead of a $20sing raised each month, have talked and discuss with our landlord, manage to push it to 16sing per month.

2) Someone has committed to support us monthly

With the economic issues happening in Spore & all over the world (maybe not here), Father has bless us with someone who decided to support us. She came to know us when she came with a team. Father never lacks in giving to His children....

3) Jars of Clay cafe/rest.

We are thankful that so far, the progress from nothing to a little something is coming up... the menu is 50% done except for snacks & drinks & dessert. So far food tried outs & tasting has been great.... really enjoyed the good and bad success

Still on a lookout for a location... saw a few,  we both like the same one.... but we'll have to check out the price for the rental.

4) Internet upgrade

I received a call yesterday from the internet company, saying they would like to upgrade my current internet plan to a better one - whole day internet access with no fee... now we get to use the internet anytime in the day as long as our UPS has power...

5) Our Health & Safety

THough we fell sick but we are Healed... I think safety, most of all is for Loong. He has to cycle every wkday to school (to&fro) thank Father for watching over...

There's so much to Thk Him for our daily lives here & needs being provided and even at times our wants & desires of our hearts...

Loong shared about the Widow & the Jars of Oil in 2.Kings. Again is a great reminder for us that we are to be contented and use what He blesses us with to be a blessing...

Keep us in ur thots:
- Jars of Clay location, rent cost, menu, logo& slogan...etc
- The valley is running out of everything - Food, petrol, cooking gas, water... due to strike...
- Loong's school (actually every school) having student union events. Vote for the individual unions... but seem like is getting worst. - Fights are occurring... n now Loong does not need to attend school for tomorrow.. who knows what will it be like for next week...
- STill looking for a house with a gd rental price tag on... we saw one that we both really like. Gd location, big rooms esp living & kitchen, 2 toilets... but more than double of what we are paying... not within budget at all...
- Looking for a 2nd hand bicycle for me or loong. We have 1 but there's two of us... when strikes happen, there's no vehicles so have to cycle.
- Also looking for a motorcycle... do not know whether to buy a 2nd hand one or get through a friend from India(3times lesser the price) but troublesome as we need to go and renew it monthly... or a total brand new one - minimum cost is 2500 sing... yes is cheap consider singapore standard but not from Thailand hahahha pry pry...

And the happenings for my Bday celebration...

My dear fren lyn, is waiting for me to blog what happened on my bday and here i am...

The day was like per normal, made breakfast and he wishes me Happy Birthday and of course a Kiss (heehee shy shy) and off he cycles to school. And I start preparing lunch for my dear husband to come back and when it was 1pm, i ponder, what happened? How come today so late... (like a typical naggy wife) So I was prepared in my heart that he might be off to a florist to get me flowers like last year.... I was singing songs with the guitar, then i heard knockings on the door. There is my husband. I wondered in my heart if he was holding any flowers behind his back like last yr how i accidently saw it but to my amazed, NOTHING... I was kind of disappointed but didn't want to show or ask... then I head to the kitchen to heat up the food meanwhile, he sneaked behind my back "Suprized!!!! Flowers!!!"....

(wait wait that's not all.... be patience readers)

I got a sms that there's an urgent meeting regards to Sophia's home... So i told loong about the meeting and he was a little unhappy as he plans to spend the whole late afternoon after his tuition with me out at a hotel to watch the sunset and have a nice meal... He was sweet to accompanied me to the meeting.

And we had pryers and meeting and closing pryers too... then Loong rushed me to go off to the hotel so we will not miss the sunset.... I was putting on my shoes and....

"Suprized!!!" Shouted all the ladies (shanti, Jacq & grace)

Tonight's dinner is on the way now... One of them is already up on the rooftop BBQing... and while all the ladies head to the kitchen and prepare bee hoon and salad..... All the M(s) families and sophia's house parents came to celebrate this 25th Birthday of mine....

We had a great time bbq up in the roof without any electrics (hahahahaha)

Loong still owns me a dinner though.... hahahhaaha

My husband is so sweet.... love him....

A Sweet Valentine...

14th Feb 09, this is our first valentine day celebration together as a married couple in another country. Though Loong wanted to surprise me with a reservation at a hotel(don't think too highly of hotels here okie hahahaha) but when he saw the cost per person, think that reminded him of me nagging of too pricey :P

Anyway, I prepared dinner in advanced. Supposing to get chicken thighs, my dear husband got chicken meat in cubes... anyway I managed to turn this around so instead of getting a nice big piece of chicken thigh grilled on the plate, is all in cubes... Loong arranged the food on the plate so nicely and with a nice candle set on the dinner table, the atmosphere changes. (By the way there was no electricity too...)

So 2 nice plates of food - sweet onion chicken grilled, mashed potatoes, carrots and zukinis at the side and dessert wine. (Will show u the pictures in the next post)

Loong's commend:
" The chicken was very good! But the company is even better... " (mushy mushy)

Most importantly is, Loong was sharing about what the Lord spoke to him about being content whereas, the Lord has impressed on my heart is not to store up earthly treasures rather be a blessing to others espeacially in M.

Today at the international ch. the msg was on Living our Lives as though we are dying. Meaning, live a life to the fullness for G. and for others... though we faced lots of culture shocks, instead of staying at our shock stage, move on... think about J.C who came down and faced lots of cross-culture issues too... and it is fine for us to feel cross-culture shocks bcos indeed we do not belong to this earth, we are just strangers/aliens living here for a short while and soon we will be returning to heaven... I personally thk G. for this reminder and to want to live my life to the fullness together with my husband, serving till we leave this earth...

Its a privilege to be serving the King of kings and Lord of lords...

Back to the city...

Do not mistaken that i meant City as in Spore... rather the capital here...

Both Loong and I had just came back to the city 3days ago after been up in the villages for 5days.

We brought a team of doctors from Spore and visited 3villagers, saw 1000+ patients in total. By His Grace, glo helped a lady Doctor in translating while Loong was helping out in the dispensing of medicines and he is now very good with the medicine names- the antidote to whatever illnesses u can name (hahahaha)

glo: I had a good time learning from the doctors and helping to translate... I know only He who enable me to translate and understand the language too... I am the only female translator and therefore was asked to do special examinations on female patients with the doctors... i saw womb dropping out (4th stage), a mini operation, any part of the body , i seen it all with all different issues.... (hahahhaa) I would have to say is exciting and fun...

There are cases also where I had to tell patients that they are in their last stage of life.... that is really hard to come out from my mouth... all i could do is laid my hands and pry... in any cases, all the patients will receive their medicines and then head to a prying corner by our co-workers.

loong: When i was dispensing the medicines to the various patients, I knew that they want to find healing in their lives/health. But my pryer for them is that they will truly find the Real Healer that is who we live for.

Now both of us are back in the city facing no electricity for most of our days... Loong started his language sch today and seem like he needs to chase up with what he missed, and glo is now back busy with the preparation for the new work and going for meetings...

Keep us in ur thoughts and pryers..
- a new house to move into (3bedrooms with 2 toilets at least so can host guests)
- a motorbike/scooter for a little connivence in traveling around esp for work...
- our monthly support
- our family members who have not know Him
- Loong's language study (enjoyable and able to pick up fast)

juz us and Him...

A little update of our lives...

Been quite a while since i last wrote ever since we left as a couple into the field...

Since the day we step into the field, we only have 8hrs each day... 4hrs in the day and 4hrs in the night. I just signed up for internet and i can't use the internet bcos there's no electric... what a lifestyle we are all having in this country.

I(glo) have been cooking bcos we are sick of the outside food and its so dark when it hits 6pm. sunsets at about 4pm... lifestyle here is slow and peaceful so far....

I(Loong) just signed up with the language school inorder  to get my visa to stay while glo gets her dependent visa from my study visa. THis is so far our strategy...

This wk we have our directors here with us to do training and next wk we will be having a medical team of which both of us will be flying to the East and climbing the hills...

Then after coming back from the east, I (loong) will start my language school... while glo will come up with the menu and do all her tried out cookings and baking... for this upcoming cafe.... so do continue to pray for us...

Got to go now before the electricity cut off and can't send this blog up...
